Need  Parent Coaching?

Parent Coaching?:  Will having a coach actually help me? How can I tell if I should even consider contacting a Need Parent Coaching?parenting coach?

Even as a Parenting Coach I have asked myself this question concerning other areas of my life.  And I have found that if I'm thinking about it and asking these questions, then the answer is YES.

Consider this: Parent Coaching is a service that every Parent on earth can use at some point in their lives.  Often times we are just going along doing what we saw our parents did with us.  What they said to us and the emotion they displayed in various situations.

After all we love our Parents and well we turned out okay... right?  While we should think highly of ourselves, (and I hope you do), often times this is a lazy approach to parenting.  You see we haven't taken the time to really discern what we agree with or don't agree with in how our parents did things. Nor have we given thought to how the  things they said affect us as adults and parents.  Furthermore we haven't really taken the time to analyze how they reacted to certain situations is affecting our lives as parents.

Heck sometimes we don't know why we are feeling the way we feel or why we react the way we do! And then later when we are alone we ask ourselves the why questions...

Here is where parent coaching can help.  You see Parenting starts with YOU.  And your child/children will react to your energy. For instance when that little curious brain called your child ask you a question do you give him/her your total attention? Do you make sure to make good eye contact? If you didn't receive this type of valued attention you may not be aware that you aren't giving this to your child/children.  Therefor the feeling they are receiving from you is the opposite of what you're attempting to portray in your answer.  Even though the answer is in a loving tone.

Whenever your teenager is not feeling very social with the family a simple hug can do the trick in changing their mood.   Maybe your family isn't the hugging type. Taking a car ride and talking about their interest or asking questions opens the communication line in a non threatening way.  In addition having a sit down movie night at home is always a game changer for teens. This opens up communication and allows you to dig further. It  also gives you the opportunity to listen, which is usually what they want.

You may have thought this or may be thinking right now if you really need parent coaching?  After all my child/children and I are okay.  And you may being say this is how my family has always been. In that I want you to ponder and  and ask yourself these questions: Need Parent coaching

Are you getting the respect that you deserve?

Is your child/children out of control & disobedient?

Do you feel overwhelmed and like you’ve lost them to society?

Do you trust your teenager, do they trust you?

Is spending time together important to you? to them?

However if you are ready to change your situation, and can't see how or where to start you are in the right place.
